University of Rhode Island, North District Parking Improvements

BETA provided civil/site engineering design, landscape architectural design, a variety of supporting site investigation & analysis services, and environmental permitting of the reconfiguration and reconstruction of two North District Parking Lots (White Hall and the Greenhouses) at the University of Rhode Island (URI), including:
- Preliminary field investigations (pavement cores, soil evaluations)
- Comprehensive field surveys of the project areas and development of digital base plans for both project areas
- Development of multiple conceptual layout designs for the lots
- Advancement of the selected conceptual layouts for each lot to final design, including roadways, ADA-compliant parking lots & sidewalks, fencing, traffic markings, and miscellaneous associated site features
- Design of stormwater management systems consisting of collection, conveyance and treatment measures, including LID stormwater measures, all in accordance with the RI Stormwater Design and Installation Standards Manual
- Design of landscaping features
- Design of site/security lighting, traffic gates and associated electrical work
- Coordination with various subconsultants
- Preparation, submission and coordination of a permit application and supporting documents to the RIDEM RIPDES program
- Preparation of construction cost estimate, specifications and bidding documents
- Provision of bid support services, including pre-bid coordination, processing of addenda, bid tabulation and award recommendation
- Provision of full-time resident engineering inspections and construction administration, including change order and payment request processing, for the duration of construction
