Pulaski Boulevard Roadway Improvements
Bellingham, Massachusetts
BETA worked with the Town of Bellingham onĀ full-depth roadway improvements such as construction/reclamation, roadway widening, cold planning and resurfacing, geometric improvements, construction of sidewalks and retaining walls, as well as traffic signal improvements at two locations. The project also involved significant drainage improvements including four detention basins and replacement of the Peter’s River culvert.
The culvert measures 12 ft wide by 10 ft high and its construction required a temporary by-pass channel to maintain the flow of water through the site. In addition, in order to minimize impacts to the adjacent wetlands, over 250 linear feet of retaining walls were constructed. These walls were comprised of all precast elements which greatly reduced their construction duration.
In addition to the MassDOT portion of work, the Town also installed new water and sewer lines along the corridor.
This roadway improvements project serves as a great example of the integrated services that BETA offers, including Traffic/Transportation, Utility Infrastructure, Stormwater Management, and Structural Design.
