Dunn’s Corner Elementary School

BETA provided landscape architectural services to redesign the site around the existing school and proposed additions. The site is in a low area surrounded by steep hills and faced certain ADA compliance issues. New sidewalks, parking layouts, and stairs provided upgrades to the existing playground and access to the new student drop off and pickup areas for both parents and buses. The main entrance plaza was redesigned to add some sitting areas and redesigned ADA parking. The parking lot layout was modified to meet new circulation routes and to provide direct access to the playgrounds. A new outdoor classroom was designed while the existing student community gardens were upgraded with plantings and fencing.
