Cory’s Gas Station Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
Greenville & North Kingstown, Rhode Island
BETA conducted American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) on two gasoline service stations located in Rhode Island. The Phase I ESAs were conducted as part of pending real estate transactions and identified several possible recognized environmental conditions at each of the properties, most related to the fact that both properties were active gasoline service stations.
Historical research identified a release of gasoline at the Greenville service station. BETA recommended sampling existing groundwater monitoring wells at this property to determine the current condition of groundwater. The results of several rounds of sampling enabled the property owner to achieve closure of the release from RIDEM.
