Mark R. Gershman, PE

As CEO, President, and COO at BETA, Mark drives the firm’s strategic vision and oversees daily operations, ensuring resource and personnel allocation align with client project needs. He leads a diverse team of transportation, structural, and civil engineers; landscape architects; environmental scientists; and water/wastewater engineers. Mark has cultivated a culture of transparency and inclusivity, enhanced risk management protocols, and strengthened internal communication.

With a strong foundation in structural engineering, Mark has previously contributed to the design of various vehicular and pedestrian bridges, rail structures, and marine terminal projects. His past roles included hands-on project management, client relations, quality control, and detailed engineering for complex infrastructure projects. Mark has also served as Chair of the SEI Boston Chapter and is an active member of his hometown’s Permanent Building Committee.
