Arek is a Landscape Architect and Planner who has been involved in several of BETA’s most publicly acclaimed Landscape Architecture projects. From leading BETA’s team in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of historic monuments, to managing large-scale streetscape projects across New England, and to overseeing small private developments and family compounds on the coast of Maine (one of which recently made an appearance on a second magazine cover), Arek’s work is creative and complex.
As a Senior Associate at BETA, Arek has had particular success in developing creative design solutions to project challenges through a ground-up integrated design approach – beginning with assembling core project teams through to stakeholder consensus building and robust public participation. Arek’s work also reveals his ability to unify hardscape and landscape elements to benefit and enhance user experience and create a strong sense of place. His ability to synthesize various project program elements into cohesive, sound, and constructible plans has resulted in the realization of many successful and highly utilized projects.
Arek is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture. He is a registered Landscape Architect licensed in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Maine, and is also a Certified Planner, as recognized by the American Institute of Certified Planners. He is a past president of the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Arek is a father to four beautiful children. He and his wife enjoy spending time with their children at Cape Cod beaches or on the organic farm his younger brother and parents operate in Bowdoinham, Maine.
