Christopher R. Cronin, PE
Senior Vice President
Chris is a Senior Vice President with BETA in the water and wastewater and construction services groups. He currently focuses on managing the needs and developing solutions for his municipal clients and their wastewater infrastructure issues. In recent years, collection systems have been the emphasis of his work and he specializes in troubleshooting, evaluation, and design of pumping systems. Communicating with facility operators and administrators, Chris has gained a thorough understanding of the challenges facing the industry, including aging infrastructure, financial limitations, personnel safety, and system clogging. In a collaborative effort with one of his clients, Chris authored “Small Station with a Big Strategy,” a technical paper about their project, which implemented a self-cleaning wet well. This paper explained the design to implementation of a system that allowed effective maintenance of a wet well and limited the need for entry into a confined space.
A graduate of Villanova University with a bachelor of science in civil engineering, Chris has worked in the consulting engineering field for over 30 years. He has spent the majority of that time in the Environmental discipline and in his tenure at BETA, has been mentored by leaders in the industry. Chris has benefited from their experience and has developed into a trusted resource for staff and clients. Chris provides his expertise in all aspects of the design, development, and successful completion of wastewater projects. His experience also includes evaluation and design of utility projects, site and drainage improvements, and other water and wastewater engineering projects.
