Carlson Crossing Revitalization

BETA was tasked with providing civil engineering and landscape architecture services for the redevelopment of Carlson Crossing in Framingham, MA. The project aimed to revitalize the aging federal housing development, comprising 31 buildings and 125 units, constructed in 1957. The scope included rehabilitating existing structures, constructing four new buildings with seven handicap-accessible family units, and integrating shared public spaces and courtyards. The project addressed critical infrastructure needs such as sewer, water piping, and drainage systems, while also upgrading electrical and energy systems. Additionally, amenities like basketball courts, playgrounds, and spray pads were included to enhance community livability. City Councilor Michael Rossi, District 6, commended the Framingham Housing Authority for their dedication to revitalizing the area and transforming it into a more vibrant community space.
