Wayfinding and Signage Plan
Groton, Connecticut
BETA worked with the Town of Groton to develop a wayfinding signage master plan and prepare detailed designs for select sign types. The plan will guide visitors on the Town’s thoroughfares to important tourist spots and key public destinations including schools, parks, sports facilities, governmental buildings, and other points of interest. It will also establish universal and cohesive design standards for wayfinding and locational signage reflective of the Town’s identity.
Working with a committee, BETA developed concepts that are locally unique, attractive, and evocative of the character of Groton. Our team presented a variety of concepts that played upon the Town’s shoreline location and nautical history. The Town has several historic sites that have made the region a prime tourist attraction and the completed signs create a unique sense of place.
