Traffic Signal Improvements

BETA developed designs for traffic signal improvements at the intersection of Rockland Street and Washington Street. Project limits extend along Washington Street approximately 200 feet west and 400 feet east of the intersection. Work was also performed on both sides of the Rockland Street Bridge. Adjacent land uses include commercial properties on Washington Street and residential on Rockland Street.

The purpose of this project was to improve traffic operations and pedestrian safety. Proposed improvements include roadway reconstruction, sidewalk replacement, installation of wheelchair ramps, upgrade of existing traffic signals, new signs, and pavement markings.
