John Byatt, PE

As Vice President and Manager of BETA’s Manchester, NH office, John Byatt, PE plays a key role in servicing the needs of our clients in New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. John is responsible for expanding BETA’s presence in northern New England, maintaining relationships with key clients, leading significant project endeavors, and ensuring quality and consistency in all of our project deliverables. He possesses over 30 years of experience in business development, operations, project management, and transportation and structural engineering. Throughout his career, John has worked closely with many municipalities and state agencies in the region including NHDOT, VTrans, and MaineDOT.

John is a registered Professional Engineer in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island and obtained his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of New Hampshire. He is an active member within the PCI-Northeast Technical Committee, WTS New Hampshire Chapter, and Structural Engineers of New Hampshire and is also a former Co-Chairperson for ACEC-MA’s MassDOT Highway/ACEC-MA Partnering Committee.

In John’s spare time, he enjoys hiking, bicycling, and traveling. He has hiked in California, Washington State, Switzerland, and Africa.
