Mark Gershman, PE, Appointed BETA’s New President

BETA is excited to announce that Mark Gershman, PE, has been appointed to the position of President. Mark has been with BETA since 2007 and has served in a variety of positions over the past 16 years. Whether in the roles of principal-in-charge or project manager, client contact for several of our major clients, or most recently as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mark has been tremendously effective and has been a significant asset to the firm. Richard Stinson, PWLF, Transitions to Client Service Manager

We’re excited to announce Rick Stinson’s transition to the role of Client Service Manager at BETA. Welcome to the Team!

Kaiser Mahmood, PhD, joins BETA as a staff engineer in our traffic and transportation group. Kaiser received his bachelor’s in civil engineering from Bangladesh University in India and his PhD in civil engineering (transportation systems engineering) from the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York. While attending the University at Buffalo, Kaiser performed graduate research on an in-depth investigation of the efficacy of high visibility crosswalks (HVC).

Glenn Stevens, PE, PTOE, joins BETA as a senior traffic engineer in our traffic group. He received his bachelor’s in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Glenn brings over 25 years of experience, having completed the designs, specs, and cost estimates of over 65 signalized intersections on eight traffic signal systems. Glenn has prepared numerous reports and studies regarding traffic impact, operations, construction impact, and corridors using the latest versions of HCS and traffic modeling software.

Dylan McCarthy recently transitioned from his BETA summer internship into a full-time GIS specialist position. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a bachelor’s in environmental science with a concentration in renewable energy and sustainability. Dylan has experience with ArcGIS Pro and applied spatial analysis thinking from his UMass coursework and his BETA summer internship.

Mia Callahan joins BETA as a staff scientist in our environmental group. Mia received her bachelor’s in environmental science with a concentration in ecology from SUNY Brockport. Mia previously worked as a quality assurance microbiology technician responsible for testing bio-burden and water and air quality.
