October 2, 2023
BETA is excited to announce that Mark Gershman, PE, has been appointed to the position of President of BETA Group, Inc. (BETA) effective October 2, 2023. Mark has been with BETA since 2007 and has served in a variety of positions over the past 16 years. Whether in the roles of principal-in-charge or project manager, client contact for several of our major clients, or most recently as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mark has been tremendously effective and has been a significant asset to the firm. He has proven to be respected for his professional expertise, client service, and ability to work with management and our entire staff to promote the continued success of BETA.
As COO, Mark oversees day-to-day business operations; spearheads our risk management policies and procedures by coordinating/updating standard agreements and presenting in-house seminars to managers; and ensures the firm has effective operational and financial procedures in place. Mark will remain COO and continue to function as such, coordinating with the office managers, monitoring the financial performance of projects and project managers, leading risk management efforts, and providing oversight to the HR and IT Departments. Mark has been invaluable to the firm and the entire senior management team in providing attention and organization to the ever-growing list of responsibilities associated with the daily operations of a firm of over 170 employees in multiple offices.
Mark is a past chair of the SEI Boston Chapter and is a member of the Permanent Building Committee within his hometown.
Joseph D’Alesio, PE, has served as BETA’s President since 2020 and was elected Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in 2022. He will remain in the role of CEO and continue to guide BETA’s management team, providing vision and leadership regarding corporate strategy and business planning.
Please join us in congratulating Mark as he leads BETA toward our continued success.
