September 12, 2022
We are pleased to announce that the American Public Works Association (APWA) President-Elect Keith Pugh has recently appointed Frank Marinaccio, PE as the Chair of the APWA National Young Professionals Committee. The Young Professionals Committee brings together members of APWA’s nine regions throughout the United States and Canada to foster and expand young professional membership and participation in the organization.
Frank, a Project Manager in our civil/site engineering division, has been in the industry since 2009 and with BETA for the last five years. His expertise in both the public and private sector includes civil engineering; active transportation design focusing on accessible pedestrian, bicycle, and public transit infrastructure; GIS & Asset Management; pavement preservation; planning; project management; and construction management and oversight. Frank is a registered Professional Engineer in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, and has been an active member of the APWA National Young Professionals Committee throughout his career. In 2021, Frank received the APWA Myron Calkins Young Leader of the Year Award. This honor recognizes a young professional who has made significant contributions to APWA and the engineering profession as well as shows leadership and the potential for future advocacy within the public works industry.
APWA committees are critical for providing value to, and leading the future of, the association. As Chair of the National Young Professionals Committee, Frank will ensure that other members of the committee are engaged through his facilitation, communication, and leadership.
Frank accepted and began his one-year term at the APWA Public Works Expo in Charlotte, NC at the end of August. Please join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved appointment!
