BETA Participates in MMA Workshop
January 27, 2014
The 35th Annual Massachusetts Municipal Association Meeting & Trade Show took place on January 24th & 25th at the Hynes Convention Center. A central feature of the MMA Annual Meeting is the wide selection of workshops covering the latest developments affecting local government. This year, BETA was a proud participant and presenter of the workshop entitled “Pavement Management: Making Your Chapter 90 Money Go Further.”
Tony Garro, Vice President of BETA Group, led a candid presentation focused on the benefits of implementing a Pavement Management plan. He was joined by representatives from Walpole, MA and Salem, MA. In addition to long-term maintance cost reductiond and maximization of funding sources, attendees were interested to learn about proactive planning approaches and new technologies used to collect and save data. BETA utilizes current data collection and management tools such as tablets and video logs, which are stored in web-based platforms in the Cloud. This instant reporting and real-time data has been a benefit to the many municipalities who have worked with our team for pavement management, asset management and other GIS-related needs.
