Employee Spotlight

Since the start of his career in 2010, Christopher Turgeon, PE, ENV SP, LPA has been instrumental in the effective completion of several key infrastructure projects throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Chris is a project manager in BETA’s Manchester, New Hampshire office and has played a critical role in growing and leading this office to continued success.

With 13 years of experience, Chris serves as our lead highway engineer in Manchester. He is an Envision Sustainability Professional – a certification that recognizes his expertise in planning, designing, building, and maintaining sustainable infrastructure. He’s also a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont, and a Certified Soil Evaluator in Massachusetts. Chris has been a crucial member of several multi-disciplinary projects managed out of New Hampshire, including the Route 125 Improvements in Epping, Washington Street Signal System Optimization project in Claremont, the design and construction of Spencer Street in Lebanon, and Union Avenue Corridor Improvements in Laconia. Chris is a natural leader who often oversees design teams of engineers from many BETA disciplines, including civil/transportation, traffic, water/wastewater, and structural.

Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and began his career at BETA as an entry-level engineer shortly after graduating. When he was promoted to project engineer, he became more involved in BETA’s Massachusetts and New Hampshire civil and transportation projects, providing design and estimated construction costs for roadways, corridors, intersections, and stormwater systems, as well as resident and construction engineering duties. Today, Chris is a project manager in charge of several smaller to moderate-sized transportation projects. Not only does he lead the design process, prepare contract documents, and maintain client relations, but he also mentors our junior staff, both in the field and in the office.

Chris is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and is a State Director of the New Hampshire Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE-NH). NSPE-NH promotes the ethical application of engineering, advocates for licensing, and improves the welfare of its members by implementing the program of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) at the state level. As a State Director, Chris works with the NSPE-NH Board to plan events, hold meetings, and provide scholarship opportunities. Additionally, Chris is involved in working with students on the University of  New Hampshire’s Senior Capstone projects.

When he’s not working, Chris likes to spend time with his wife, family, and friends. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, fishing, kayaking, biking, and camping.
